Meet My God

Songs from the Poems of Sharon Price

Meet My God CD jewel case and printed disc

Poems written in the 1970s, folded away for decades, and finally brought to life through music.

Sharon Price never expected anyone else to read these poems. She wrote them as personal expressions of her Christian faith, typed them on a Royal manual typewriter, folded the pages, and placed them in a box.

More than fifty years later, her son, R. J. Carter, transformed eight of those poems into traditional bluegrass gospel recordings while preserving Sharon's original words and structure.

“Once you've met my saviour, you're never quite the same.”

The Story Behind the Songs

Sharon Price wrote these poems from the early 1970s into the early 1980s. They were never written for publication or performance. They were simply a way to put faith, questions, worries, hope, and praise onto paper.

The poems remained folded away for decades until they were rediscovered by her family. Each song on Meet My God uses Sharon's words directly, without turning individual passages into repeated modern choruses or rearranging the poems into conventional commercial forms.

The bluegrass gospel style reflects the traditional country and gospel music Sharon loved, including Dottie Rambo, Loretta Lynn's gospel recordings, and the Gaither Trio.

The CD is offered to family, friends, churches, gospel-music listeners, and anyone who may find comfort or encouragement in these songs. Each purchase also helps support foreign missions: after the cost of printing and producing the CD is covered, all remaining proceeds are set aside for that purpose.

“His presence is so wonderful, and Jesus is His name.”
