Rise of Iron

Destiny’s newest expansion, RISE OF IRON, only has one week until it releases; we are left in eager anticipation of what’s to come. As I have already pre-ordered the expansion, I will be playing it as soon as it’s released and will be sure to share my thoughts. However, until then I have decided to store the game in the vault so when it comes time to load it up, the experience will be that much more exciting. However to those of you who think that’s bad juju, and will continue to play until it drops, here is some super good advice on what to do to prepare yourself:

  1. If you want to complete the Year 2 Moments of Triumph you better get a move on...because the clock is ticking. Once RISE OF IRON drops, you will no longer be able to receive the rewards that go along with completing the quests.

  2. Pick up any vendor or faction weapons you want, because once you update with the expansion, you won’t be able to acquire them anymore. They will be replaced with new weapons for RISE OF IRON.

  3. Rank up your Vanguard, Crucible, and Faction reps but wait to claim the package. This is a sneaky way to load up on new stuff. Once the expansion hits you can claim it and receive new gear instantly.

  4. Stock up on upgrade materials such as Armor Materials, Weapon Parts, Spirit Bloom, Spinmetal, etc. so you’re all ready to upgrade the new toys you find.

  5. Get to the Lighthouse. Now I know this one is gonna be real tricky, because it’s not easy to go Flawless in TRIALS OF OSIRIS; I have never done it. But I still suggest you give it a shot. Just like the vendor and factions, the current gear will be unattainable after the release.

  6. Get to, or get as close to, the max light level of 335 as possible. You won’t want to get left behind when it gets bumped up with the release.

  7. Clear out some vault space! This one really only applies to those of you that like to horde gear like I do, because we will not be receiving more with RISE OF IRON. I know it’s sad but we gotta dump some of the gear we really no longer have any use for.

  8. Stockpile as many Legendary and Exotic engrams as possible. You’ll be able to visit Cryptarch on day one and hopefully get yourself some new RISE OF IRON Legendary and Exotic gear.

  9. Trespasser, a new Exotic Sidearm from RISE OF IRON, is dropping early so go grind for as many Exotic special weapon engrams as possible to try and get lucky. I’m sure with enough patience and time Master Rahool will be nice enough to give it to you….hopefully.

  10. And last, but not least, if you’ve already done everything and have gotten yourself fully prepared, try and help out some other players who haven’t been able to complete some activities yet. There are still some people out there who have yet to run through the Kings Fall raid. When it comes down to it, we’re all fellow Guardians looking to have fun, so why not lend a helping hand to those who need it.

Now these are just suggestions on what I think would be helpful to do while waiting for the release so by all means feel free to do as you please in the week that remains. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to go emote and find something to occupy my time for the next week…. *sigh* I’m already regretting this decision.
