I've loved the National Pastime since I was a little kid. So, it's kind of fun as I ponder how much joy and sadness the game of baseball has brought me in life. Right now I'm on a great stretch as the Mets just defeated the Dodgers to setup a NLCS matchup with the Cubs. A relatively unlikely matchup at season's commencement, but one that makes a lot of sense, when you realize just how loaded with exceptional youth both squads are. Breaking down the series isn't what I'm here to do. What I've got for you is an odd journey through life to a series that I simply cannot wait to watch.

CBS and NFL Network are reporting a 40% increase, in overnight ratings, from last year. The Giants entered the contest having lost their first two games of the season, holding hands with the Philadelphia Eagles at the bottom of the NFC East. A third loss, would have severely threatened the Giants chances at reaching the playoffs, before the end of September.

With a divisional matchup against the Washington Redskins, this game was a playoff game within itself. The Giants first loss came against the Cowboys and starting the year with two divisional losses would have all but eliminated them from contention. It's no surprise that football fans (Giants fans in particular) were locked into, what could be billed as, a mid-September elimination game. The game brought in an 11.9/20 household rating/share.

The NFL is all about parity. This year, however, it's full of 'have's' and 'have not's'. According to ESPN, since 1990, only 22 of the 160 teams to start 0-2 have made the playoffs. With a total of 9 teams still seeking their first win of the 2015 season, let's take a look to see which ones have the best chance of turning things around and marching, or in some cases stumbling, into the playoffs.

The Philadelphia Eagles are 0-1 to start the 2015 season, but there's no reason to write them off just yet. As a matter of fact, I'll give you 5 reasons why the sky isn't falling (yet).

Over the next two weeks, Lucha Underground is doing their big “season finale” event called Ultima Lucha.  It starts this week and will finish off on August 5th with a big two-hour blow out.

I do want to comment on how impressed I’ve been with the build-up for this show.  Lucha Underground basically put together a coherent season-long story line.  Many of these matches have been building for a long time.  I did think it was a little odd that the Black Lotus storyline seems to have vanished, but I suspect that might have been because Chavo Guerrero’s injury.  Hopefully if they have a season 2, we will finally get to meet Matanza.
