LEGO Dimensions Doctor Who Scooby Doo Simpsons Critical Blast

From Comic Book Resources:

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment trumpeted its “toy-to-life” console game LEGO Dimensions last month, it promised “a lot more” properties would join the likes of DC Comics, The Lord of the Rings and Back to the Future at launch. Thanks to a leak, we now know at least some of them — including Doctor Who, Portal 2, Jurassic World and The Simpsons.

Similar in approach to the popular Skylanders and Disney Infinity, LEGO Dimensions will enable players to purchase LEGO sets that they’ll build into characters, vehicles and devices that can be introduced into the game with the Toy Pad. They’ll be able to mix and match characters and objects from a range of properties, changing and expanding gameplay.

Among those unannounced properties, Brickset discovered through since-removed downloaded instructions on the LEGO site, are the aforementioned Doctor Who (featuring the Doctor, the TARDIS and K9), the first-person puzzle game Portal 2, Jurassic World (which is getting its own LEGO game), Scooby-Doo (already part of a deal between Warner Bros. and LEGO) and The Simpsons.

In addition, images have surfaced of previously announced “fun packs” of characters like Wonder Woman and Cyborg from DC Comics, Gollum, Gimli and Legolas from The Lord of the Rings, and the Wicked Witch from The Wizard of Oz, alongside surprises, like Bart and Krusty the Clown from The Simpsons. You can see all of the leaked images at Brickset.

Developed by TT Games, LEGO Dimensions arrives Sept. 27.

Commentary: I had first posted about Lego Dimensions about a month ago. The more news that comes out, the more excited I get.  I was shocked to see The Doctor and K-9.  I just hope you get a lot of crossover possibilities.  My biggest complaint about Disney Infinity is that you really can't play Monsters University with The Incredibles' characters.  There is the open Toy Box, but I think it would be more fun if you could play with the characters in each other's worlds.  The Doctor in Springfield...Chris Pine flirting with Chall from Portal...Gollum trying to steal Marty's hoverboard.  THAT would make this a must buy game for me.

Oh who am I kidding, once the announced the Doctor and K-9, I knew I would be buying this one.
