There is a great disturbance in the Force.

After a year of establishing themselves as a major thorn in the Empire's side, the Rebels return for a second season to continue their fight for freedom. With the defeat of the Inquisitor in season one, the Empire is not to be outdone. Hera, Kanan, Ezra, Sabine and the rest of the crew will face a new threat.

Darth Vader.

While being the most notorious advocate for the Empire in the entire galaxy, the showrunners still plan to use Vader sparingly:

“I think you don’t want to overuse a character like that, and you don’t want to have characters like Darth Vader in a situation where he’s going to lose relentlessly,” Filoni told MTV News over the phone.

Since George Lucas sold the rights to Disney, many diehard fans of the space opera felt betrayed and refused to jump on-board with this latest installment. Having Darth Vader's presence will help establish Star Wars Rebels as a legitimate entry into the overall mythos and perhaps bring back some estranged fans. Also notable is that legendary actor James Earl Jones will reprise his role as the Sith Lord, to further cement this series as canon. In order to avoid dilluting the on-screen presence that Darth Vader will carry, he won't be included in the entire second season; limited to just the premiere. But if you think for a moment that Darth Vader will not have a significant impact on the future of Star Wars Rebels, well...

I find your lack of faith disturbing.

Season Two of Star Wars Rebels begins tomorrow with a one-hour long premiere on Disney XD at 9pm EST. Visit MTVNews.com for the entire story and an exclusive clip.
