If Tim Burton were to remake THE YEAR WITHOUT A SANTA CLAUS as a dramatic modern tragedy, it might come close to the emotions felt across the country as we await word from toy-selling colossus TOYS "R" US that they will be shuttering their stores across the country.

Should expectations bear out, the 60+ year old company will be the latest brick-and-mortar chain to fall victim to online competition, as parents turn to sites like Walmart, Amazon, and eBay for their purchases. Even the suppliers of toys have become competitors against their customer, with companies like LEGO and Mattel offering direct sales through their websites.

In January, TRU CEO Dave Brandon stated on the company blog that the chain would "continue to operate stores in all major markets across the U.S. and around the world." Two months later, that statement seems to have been overly optimistic.

On your program guide for SyFy, you'll notice that tomorrow night a featurette called "Krypton: Making of a Legend" will air in the 11 pm time slot. If you don't want to wait that long, SyFy has released the featurette online.

The intro features Geoff Johns, Brian Michael Bendis, Jim Lee, Scott Snyder, and others Superman's impact and the importance of Krypton's legacy. Hosted by Cameron Cuffe (Seg-El), as he stands on the set in Belfast where the Fortress of Solitude scenes are filmed, the 22 minute long commentary dives deep into the world of Krypton including the origin of the series.

Take note, however, that there are spoilers for the show and because we're exploring a history that hasn't really been revealed, some viewers may not want to watch it until they've seen the pilot which airs March 21st.

After his actions to help Cain (aka Lt. Marcus Pierce, played by TOM WELLING) led directly to putting Detective Chloe Decker (LAUREN GERMAN) into harm's way, Lucifer (TOM ELLIS) has decided to dissolve his partnership with Cain and stop trying to find a way to remove the curse his father put on him. In fact, he decides to do his best to remove Chloe from his spotlight entirely, in an attempt to fool God about how much she means to him so that He won't try to take her away.

ABC has posted the opening sequence of the ROSEANNE revival.  It's very much in the spirit of the earlier seasons featuring the family sitting around the table as the camera rotates around.  We get a glimpse of a lot of the new characters here.  ROSEANNE returns March 27 on ABC.

If you're not familiar with the name Cynthia Weil, you're almost certainly familiar with her work, with Grammy-winning songs like "Somewhere Out There" from AN AMERICAN TAIL, or perhaps that classic Righteous Brothers song (or Tom Cruise song, depending on your outlook), "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling."

Weil is also a novelist of YA books, and her latest, 806, follows three biological siblings on a search for their father, known to them only as "Donor 806."

Dynavector of Australia, the acclaimed maker of many things phono from the land down-under (differing from Dynavector of Japan, who only make phono cartridges; Dynavector of Australia only makes electronics) and imported into the states by Dynavector USA, has just released its newest version of the wonderful P75 phono stage, of which I own the MKII version.

Now, to my knowledge, they are not ones to release new or updated things all that often, so when I was told about this new updated version, and urged by that proprietor of all things wonderfully stereo, Charlie Schnyder of Stereo Haven, I just had to audition it.

While my MKII, and all the the versions before the MKIV, were highly musical and engaging phono stages, not only for the money but regardless of cost, the new version here I am pleased to say takes music to the next level. But I will get that in a minute...

So I've just watched JUSTICE LEAGUE for the first time, thanks to the Blu-ray / DVD / Digital release of the film, and I have to admit that I'm happily impressed. For the most part, anyway. After having been sorely disappointed with many of the aspects of its predecessor, BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE, JUSTICE LEAGUE was a film that took the DCEU leaps and bounds into better territory.

It's the episode of GOTHAM you've been waiting for -- not because of the return of Jerome (CAMERON MONAGHAN), not because ot the confrontation he has with Oswald (ROBIN LORD TAYLOR), and not even because Ivy (PEYTON LIST) is showing off just how much of a badass she is in this new incarnation (which only gets more dangerous as the episode draws to a close). No, it's because this is the episode where Bruce Wayne (DAVID MAZOUZ) finally gets sense beaten into him about what a dick he's been the last half-season.

Country music newcomer, Kendall Gary, drops her new single, Head Held High tomorrow, March 9, 2018. 

It's a natural anthem, empowering and encouraging, with a focus on forging ahead in the face of negativity from others. The beat is modern country that skews pop in the bridge, but the overall zeitgeist is true to country music ideals.

The video (embedded below) is done simply, using only two settings -- a two-lane highway and a grassy field, cutting from one to the other with minor costume changes. The video could have been made a little more impacting if the opening monologue lines had remained internal to the performer but done with the voices of others, male and female, as the song is directed more at ignoring outside influences than self doubts, but that doesn't impact the song itself.

It's almost unfathomable to think there's anyone over five years of age who hasn't seen Walt Disney's LADY AND THE TRAMP by now. However, it's good to occasionally be reminded of just how good a film it is for young and old alike, a tale of how love bridges class boundaries, and can cause anyone to rethink their entrenched philosophies for the happiness of another.

DC and WB Games take a classic RPG style game and give it a makeover to appeal to its fans.

We interrupt your 60 minute trailer for LOVE, SIMON, to give you a few tidbits about what's going on in RIVERDALE. That's how this episode often ran, as we were inundated with movie posters, plans to see the movie, dates made to see the movie, going to the movie, and for a bit even seeing the movie. And the point of promoting a movie about a gay teenager coming out to his parents? It allows us to focus more on Moose Mason (CODY KEARSLEY) and his closeted bisexuality and attraction to Kevin Keller (CASEY COTT). Moose has told Kevin that his girlfriend, Midge Klump (EMILIJA BARANAC), is aware of what he and Kevin have done and is totally open to that; but in later conversation with the three of them, it becomes clear to Kevin that Moose was lying.

In a shocking move, DC Comics has decided to release Tom King's FULL story for Action Comics #1000, due out this April.

Five pages of beautiful prose and art combined to bring this grown man to tears. Without knowing entirely what's going on, you slowly watch and listen to Superman fill you in on what he's been up to. Where he is. And who he's talking to.

I'm not going to spoil a single thing but I promise you that if you have a heart and a soft spot in your soul for the Man of Steel, you will sucumb to emotion. Clay Mann provides beautiful artwork complimented by Jordie Bellaire's colors. And yes, props to the letterer John Workman for providing text that is easy to follow so you can just sink into the story.

If there was ever a year to start (or get back into) reading Superman comic books, this is the year to do it. With Action Comics #1000 coming in May, I don't need to explain the importance of getting to your local comic book store and reserving a copy.

But I'm going to anyways.

"Enter Flashtime" will go down as one of the best, most intense, episodes of THE FLASH since the series debuted. The Flash (GRANT GUSTIN) goes up against an eco-terrorist, Veronica Dale (BERNADETTE SAQUIBAL), aka Hyrax from the GREEN ARROW comic books. Her team are robbing an A.R.G.U.S. shipment of nuclear fissionable material. As Jesse Quick (VIOLETT BEANE) is on hand visiting her father, she accompanies Flash to stop the heist.
