The Flash has gone up against some pretty fast villains in his short tenure as Central City's hero. But now he's up against a new sort of criminal -- a metahuman with the power of slow.
Technically, The Turtle (Aaron Douglas) sucks the speed out of anything around him, allowing him to appear to be moving quickly, when he's actually sauntering around, taking what he came for and leaving unseen. He's been a pet project for Cisco (Carlos Valdes), but no one has believed he existed. But now Cisco thinks The Turtle might hold the key to capturing Zoom, by using his abilities to steal Zoom's speed. This gets the attention of Dr. Harrison Wells (Tom Cavanagh), who has worked a secret deal with Zoom to steal The Flash's speed!
On the relationship front, this episode marks a turning point in the lives of The Flash's alter ego, Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) and his girlfriend Patty Spivot (Shantel VanSanten). It also gives us some more information about the life of Wally West (Keiynan Lonsdale), revealing more than a little resentment against his father, Joe West (Jesse L. Martin), for not having known he existed. And something happens between Jay Garrick (Teddy Sears) and Caitlyn Snow (Danielle Panabaker) to bring them closer and light a fire under them to find a way to recover Jay's lost speed.
And if that's not enough, the episode ends with a blast from the past -- well, a blast from the future that ends up in the past. And yes, the blast is yellow!
The hiatus is over as The CW brings back new episodes of THE FLASH, ARROW -- and the hotly anticipated LEGENDS OF TOMORROW, all this week.
