Darren Lynn Bousman's torture machine continues to crank out product, this time branching out of the SAW franchise into an inspired copycat storyline: SPIRAL. And with this iteration, Bousman brings in some of Hollywood's big guns to lend their faces to the project.

Detective Zeke Banks (Chris Rock) is a pariah on the force, seen as disloyal to the blue because he turned on a dirty cop and had him put away, when his father, Marcus Banks (Samuel L. Jackson)  was in charge of the precinct. It's made him angry, and it's made him take risks, something which is difficult for his new partner, Detective William Schenk (Max Minghella), to accept.

Sam (Karen Gillan, Doctor Who) was abandoned as a teenager by her mother, Scarlet (Lena Headey), after she took the initiative to take an unsanctioned assassination. But what Sam walks into is the ransom delivery for a kidnapping of 8-year-old (excuse me, 8 and three-quarters) Emily (Chloe Coleman). Unable to leave a child abandoned and feeling personally responsible for Emily's well-being, Sam must defend the both of them from an endless army from both The Firm and a bereaved mobster father (Ralph Ineson).

Yes, horror games keep finding new ways to scare you, but you still play them. There’s something fun about being scared. That’s why the horror genre is doing great after so much time. There are certain titles that are iconic and fans will continue playing for years. Silent Hill

A foggy town filled with weird-looking creatures is the place you’ll visit in the Silent Hill franchise. The town shares the name of the franchise and will get under your skin thanks to the spooky atmosphere. The creatures will come after you as you’re running around and solving puzzles. It’s not about scaring you with jump scares. What Silent Hill does is get under your skin. The Pyramid Head plays a vital role in this franchise and you’ll do well to get out of his way.

A graphic novel, correctly done, engages both sides of the reader's brain by merging the process of reading with that of absorbing and appreciating art. It's the only medium that can do this.

But the creators of AIRITH: THE KENTILAN WAR want to take that a few steps further, and deliver a more immersive experience to the reader by adding tactile, auditory, and even olfactory components. The graphic novel, currently funding its second volume on Indiegogo,  not only delivers an embossed cover but also includes a soundtrack of Fleetwood Mac covers and an air freshener. all with the goal of taking the reader deeper into the cyberpunk / multidimensional environment of the story.

We sat down and interviewed the creator of the series to go a little deeper into this world and find out just how far things might go for the series.

His Dark Materials is a series of books by Sir Philip Pullman which plays on the subject of parallel worlds that blend fantasy and reality, magic and technology, and quantum physics and religion. It's like a recipe card where all the ingredients sound delicious, but which have to be mixed just so in order for the final product to measure up to expectations.

While I am familiar with the books, I am not someone who has read them. Therefore, I cannot comment as to how closely HBO adheres to the story in their serial adaptation of the adventure, which finds Dafne Keen playing Lyra Silvertongue, the young heroine of the story. I can say that, having watched the first two seasons now, the live action version has done little to motivate me into reading the source material.

Miskatonic High is the ongoing story about a group of teenagers who, voluntarily or otherwise, are participants in their school's Community Service Club. On their very first outing, they were transported through time and space to witness an arcane ritual, and their lives have never been the same since. In this issue, "Reflections out of Time," an encounter with a device that might have been designed by Jack Kirby and M.C. Escher during a three-day drinking binge once again hurtles the friends through history -- this time, however, landing in the bodies of their parents.

In each era, they encounter the device -- and the monster that apparates out of it -- with their numbers gradually dwindling as fewer of their ancestors exist in the Arkham Society, until ultimately only one remains -- in a past so distant it predates human civilization.
