February is the shortest month of the year. So to balance that out, we've made the farthest reach we can to find this month's Critical Blast Bombshell -- halfway around the world to Russia!
This month's Bombshell has been making a name for herself in the cosplay community through her Instagram photos of recognizable characters in natural, casual poses. She's also an object lesson in time management, as she has to juggle her considerable cosplay skills with the busy life of a full-time college student.
Ladies and Gentlemen, Дамы и господа, we are pleased and proud to present at this time...
Critical Blast Bombshell, February 2018

What is your interest in cosplay?
First of all, I love cosplay because for me this is some kind of self-realization: I love making costumes, and I think this is a perfect way to spend my free time. And, of course, I really enjoy to communicate with other people from cosplay community -- most of my close friends I met there.
How did you get into cosplay, and what was your first cosplay experience?
When I was 15 years old, I went to my first Comic Con as a visitor and I saw a sbaer-fighting performance on stage. (This is fencing with lightsabers, like in STAR WARS.) I was very impressed by this performance, and I decided to join them. The next month, I already was a part of their team. They taught me some basics, and I started to participate in comics conventions with them as a cosplayer in an original Sith costume.
How has your cosplay evolved since you began?
Honestly, I don't like my first cosplays at all. My first cosplay was original from STAR WARS. The costume was very simple and I didn't even wear a simple make-up, so I prefer not to see any photos with this cosplay anymore. My second costume was an original Mandalorian armor from STAR WARS. It was the first armor I made by myself, and I was short on time while I made it, so It wasn't very good. But after that, I took into account all my previous mistakes and started to make better costumes. Now I'm working on costumes which should improve my skills.
What is your "secret identity" outside of cosplaying?
Well, in real life I am a student of Moscow State Technical University, studying information security. Sometimes I don't even have time for cosplay because of hard study.
What kind of social or charity activities do you get involved in with your cosplay?
I'm trying to attend cosplay festivals as much as possible, because there I can meet all my friends and show my skills. I visited children in hopsital in Mandalorian armor! It was an unforgettable experience for me.
Do you make as much of your own costume as possible or rely on purchased materials -- and is that important overall to cosplaying?
I'm trying to make as much as is possible, but sometimes I have to ask my friends for help. For example, I'm not good in sewing (but I'm working on it), but crafting is much easier for me.
What's your favorite cosplay, your "go to" look that you just love to put on and act out?
My favourite cosplay is Batgirl. I love her costume because, first of all, it looks good, and it's comfortable to wear (but not in summer, because it is too hot to wear in sunny weather).
