Doctor Who: The Twelfth Doctor #9 (in stores June 3) sees the Doctor rub shoulders with Rat Pack members Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr. and Dean Martin!  A brand-new story begins, as the Doctor and Clara are forced to ally with gangsters on the Vegas strip to combat an even more terrifying foe!

Will the Doctor's morals prove as alien as the unearthly invaders – or can he triumph without compromise... in 'GANGLAND'?

Commentary: This is such an awesome idea for a Doctor Who story!  I can't believe no one had ever thought of it before!   The Rat Pack are just the all time Kings of Cool.  You don't get to see Doctor Who interact with American icons all that much, and this story should just be a lot of fun.

To me, this is where the comic can really add to the lore of Doctor Who.  They need to do more stories that you can't possibly do on TV.

One thing I have really liked about the Twelfth Doctor comics is that Robbie Morrison has done a terrific job capturing the personality and voice of Peter Capaldi's version of the Doctor.  To me, this had to be a challenge, especially in the beginning as the first issues came out pretty much just as Capaldi made his debut in the show.  But Morrison has proven himself up for the challenge, and this series has been a great companion piece to the show.  Actually, until probably August, it's the only new Doctor Who we get, so that makes it even more important for this comic to get it right.
